Caroline Tawney

Hi everyone! I would like to tell you all a little about myself.  I am from Maryland and started riding when I was 7 years old.  I was your typical barn brat and learned everything from cleaning stalls to training horses throughout my childhood.  I showed the local circuit in youth hunter classes and English pleasure.  I was even fortunate enough to do some A circuit shows and compete in the qualifiers for the Washington International horse show. 

     After graduating high school I attended St. Andrews College in North Carolina and earned a scholarship to be on the equestrian team.  I became a NARHA certified instructor to teach people with disabilities.  I ran a therapeutic riding center in North Carolina until I moved to South Carolina almost 2 years ago.  Since I have been here I have taught both able bodied riders and special needs riders. 

     My philosophy is simple - be safe and have fun! I teach all of my riders the common sense skills they need to be around horses safely and be successful in whatever there riding goals are.  I am patient and flexible with my students to make learning as fun and easy as possible!
