VOLUNTEERING

At Eden Farms and Happy Hooves, there is always something to do and we love having volunteers come and learn with us. Activities for volunteers range from helping in Therapy and special needs programs to all the other work done at a barn (horse grooming, tacking, cleaning, repairs, etc)

The pictures above show volunteers from GE giving up their precious time as part of Hands on Greenville 2011, carrying out projects we could only dream of completing!

We have many programs at different times that we need volunteers for:

Therapeutic Riding - Therapy is offered Monday through Saturday. This would involve getting horses groomed and tacked up, leading or side walking during Therapy, and then helping to untack horses.

After School Programs - During the school year we have different school programs, some after school,  some during the day. These programs need volunteers for the horse related activity as well as help with the academic or craft activities.

School Field Trips - Throughout the year we have many different groups visiting with the number of children varying from 15 to 100. These trips need volunteers to help with horse activities and other educational activities.

Special Events - throughout the year there are special events such as an information booth at off site events, our own horse shows, and our open days.

Other Areas - there is always something to do at the barn, we can find something that suits everyone, just tell us when you do your orientation exactly what areas you are interested in.
